PSL Woman Charged with Child Neglect

A Port St. Lucie woman has been charged with child neglect after officials say she left her 2-year-old child in the car while she shopped at Walgreens.

Marisha Johnson was arrested Sunday after a Port St. Lucie police officer came across a black Toyota Camry with the engine running parked in the parking lot of a Walgreens and noticed that the right rear window was rolled down and there was a 2-year-old child unrestrained in a car seat inside the car.

After her arrest, Johnson was sent to the St. Lucie County jail for booking. The child, in good health, was turned over to family members.
